The common eligibility criteria for a Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and Insurance across India require passing 10+2 with 45% to 60% marks, with a preference for commerce stream students. 

Educational Qualifications

  • Passing Certificate: Must pass class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent exam from a recognized state or central board (such as CBSE, ICSE).

  • Preferred Stream: Commerce is widely preferred, though many universities accept students from Science or Arts backgrounds.

  • Minimum Marks: An aggregate score ranging between 45% and 60%, with reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) often getting a relaxation down to 40%–45%.

  • Core Subjects: Having studied Mathematics, Economics, Business Studies, or Accountancy in class 12 is an advantage but not always mandatory. 

  • Selection Process: Admissions are primarily based on class 12 merit, though some selective institutes or universities require institutional or national-level entrance test scores.
