Education Requirements

  • After 10th Grade: Pass the 10th standard (SSLC/SSC) exam from a recognized board.

  • Mandatory Subjects: Must study Mathematics and Science (or Physics, Chemistry, and Math).

  • After 12th Grade: Some institutes also accept students who finished 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). 

Marks and Age Limits

  • Minimum Marks: Generally need an aggregate score of 35% to 50% depending on the state board or polytechnic institute rules. 

  • Age Limit: Usually must be at least 15 to 17 years old at the time of admission; many state polytechnics do not have an upper age limit. 

  • Entrance Tests: Certain private or national diploma programs require clearing an entrance test like an industry or state common entrance test (CET).
